Chrysler’s Plan to Move Inventory
We read last night that Chrysler is viciously urging auto dealers to cut vehicle costs and order more units. I guess this is their way to address the vehicle pileup we’ve seen around the world.
Chrysler’s plea do dealers is more of an imperative to them versus the other OEM’s. In 2008, Chrysler saw a 30 per cent decline in their US sales – by far the worst performance out of the Big Three domestic auto makers. Nonetheless, their Fiat deal should help to sustain them a while longer, but we’ve also recently heard of Fiat hinting that they may ask the Italian government for aid. It seems that jobs in Italy are also at risk.
